uploads to New Post from personal computer

    (1) I am a newbie. 2) I was delighted to learn I could upload and post text from my home iMac, but find the Codex document I have, “Uploading Files,” doesn’t explain accurately what happens. For instance, after I access New Post page, I don’t see any Upload/Insert menu, so I’m stymied from the start. I have tried without success to find a proper path. Help! (3) When I am able to upload my .docx and/or .pdf files, will I then be able to revise them with, say, HTML, for publication? Or to modify them in any way?

    I think I found a workaround. At least I seem to be able to get my uploads into WordPress drafts. But sill not into editable new posts.

    Use “Add media” to upload content to a post.

    Thanks for your reply. Using “Add media” was part of my workaround. I was finally able to get files into “draft” form, but still can’t get them into useable form at “Add Post.”

    I’m trying to upload poems and commentary from my iMac(nalready typed in Microsoft Word, and convertible by OSX 10.10.5 to .htm format) to to be published as a WordPress post. Nothing more than that.

    Just copy and paste. You do not want to use html formats.
