Hello there!

please fix ASAP

@mummyconstant you can use FTP to access your website folder, remove /wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp then unzip following file https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/mailchimp-for-wp.4.1.6.zip and upload “mailchimp-for-wp” folder to /wp-content/plugins/
hope that helps!
If you have FTP access you can disable the plugin (go to wp-content>plugins and change name of plugin directory to something like xxx-mailchimp-for-wp), check the site is back up, then download the latest version 4.1.7 which has just been updated I think. Unzip the plugin files if they are zipped and upload them all into xxx-mailchimp-for-wp. Change name back to mailchimp-for-wp. Worked for me!
I used this.
Thanks guys. I am back in 🙂
Hi everyone,
I made a mistake in our last update and I am sorry for it breaking your sites. Definitely not my intention, of course. 🙁 We have just pushed out version 4.1.8 in which this issue is resolved.
If you’re still seeing the fatal error, please take the following steps to resolve it.
– Log into your website using FTP.
– Go into your /wp-content/plugins folder and rename or delete the “mailchimp-for-wp” directory.
– Re-install or update version 4.1.8 of the MailChimp for WordPress plugin.Let me know if you need any help in getting this resolved.
They have just fixed an issue in version 4.1.8 😉
It happens. Thank you for quick actions taken.
Just installed, working fine.Thank you.
Awesome – I will update and give it another go 🙂
Sorry, 4.1.8 is OK, not 4.1.7.
4.1.8 is up and running and everything is OK 🙂
Thanks @dvankooten for the quick update and everyone else for the support.
I updated to the latest version 4.1.8 and got an error saying it could not access the server (sorry I don’t have exact words); my WordPress site then failed and when it restarted the plugin was no longer in the list of plugins and I have the following banner message “Please install or update MailChimp for WordPress (version 3.1 or higher) in order to use MailChimp User Sync”.
When I try and install MailChimp for WordPress, that fails saying the directory already exists.
Any ideas how to restore MailChimp for WordPress and keep my existing link to MailChimp?
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark,
That’s strange, don’t you see the “MailChimp for WordPress” plugin as an available plugin that you can active on the Plugins overview page in your WP Admin?
Alternatively, you can always just delete the /wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp folder and re-install the plugin from ww.wp.xz.cn. Your settings are stored in your database so after re-installing the plugin, your connection to MailChimp will still be there.
Hope that helps!
Unfortunately the MailChimp for WordPress plugin is completely gone. I will try and rename the folder first and if that allows a reinstall then delete it.
Thanks for the quick reply
My problem has been resolved by renaming the directory and that enabled me to reinstall MailChimp for WordPress – thanks
