It’s always refreshing when a plugin just works. Thank you for building this solid plugin with a great set of options and flawless integration with existing themes. Well done!

Is there anyway to make it jump to the header without changing the URL? I get that this is how Wikipedia does it, but it’s not ideal for every site. For example, not wanting Google to index a link for each heading section, and not wanting users to share links that jump to those specific anchors.

It would be cool if you had a tooltip on each option (or at least a documentation page) that explains the options in more depth, such as why one would want to, or not want to, put anchors in lowercase or – instead of _.

Sorry, no. that is how the web works.

If you do not wish for Google to index in-page links and prevent users from sharing them, the best option is not to use a TOC plugin. To prevent Google from indexing, you will need to investigate methods to set the noindex page header. This is not within the feature set of ezTOC. Generally, you will find it in SEO plugins.

RE: why one would want to, or not want to, put anchors in lowercase or – instead of _

User preference. They are functionally the same.
