    Hello,

On my site I have 6 categories for blog posts e.g productivity, motivation, confidence etc

All of my blog posts fit in one of these categories.

My current permalink structure is sitename/motivation/blog-post

I wanted to change it so that it becomes sitename/blog/blog-post

I basically want to have “blog” in the URL for all my blog posts but not have the indiviudal categories in like productivity, motivation etc because it makes the URL too long.

However in wordpress, I still need all of my blog posts to sit in one of these 6 categories like productivity, motivation etc)

Is there a way to do this?

    thank you

    Hi,

You can change the permalink structure and still have the posts assigned to their individual categories. We can’t provide specific advice on how to implement this, nor is it feasible with the Yoast SEO plugin, but we do have an article here that we can point you to that should be of help in changing your permalink structure — https://yoast.com/help/how-do-i-change-the-permalink-structure/
