    Hi there!

I saw a similar thread, but it was closed without a solution.

I just created the above-mentioned website and submitted it to Google through Search Console last week. Now, no matter what I do, it shows me this error:
“URL is not on Google: Indexing errors”
It also says “Indexing allowed? No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag” ”

But when I go into robots.txt, and even through inspect element, I cannot find any noindex tags!!

Things I have tried (apart from submitting the site again and again):
Deactivating Yoast, deleting robots.txt through hosting
Clearing all caches (through performance plugin and server)
Reactivating Yoast, creating a new robots.txt file
    Resubmitting everything through Search Console

    And still nothing…

Any other tips? Could Yoast be the culprit? Or is Google taking longer than usual to crawl websites?

By the way, I have the same issue on another website from last week.

    Thanks
    Mariela

    Hi @marielahh

The error that is being reported by Google Search Console:

“URL is not on Google: Indexing errors”
It also says “Indexing allowed? No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag” ”

This doesn’t mean the robots.txt file. It’s actually the meta robots tag, which you can learn more about here – https://yoast.com/robots-meta-tags/

If you’ve set a post or page to not show in the search results, it would then have a ‘noindex’ meta robots tag, which would prevent Google and other crawlers from indexing it. You can check if you’ve configured it properly in the Yoast SEO plugin – https://yoast.com/help/how-do-i-noindex-urls/

Hi Michael! I have checked all pages and they are not using the noindex tag.

Any other ideas of what I could do?

    Thanks

If you go to the website and “inspect element”, you will see that I am not using noindex as a robots meta tag.

    Any ideas?

    @marielahh

Technically, as we inspect your website we do see the Yoast SEO has outputted all the required meta tags on the page source as well as no noindex meta tag found.

Likewise, the robots file has no blocking directive rule, and required sitemaps are also generated.

Considering all these facts, we say the Yoast SEO plugin is working fine on your website and seems to have no role in affecting Google crawling your website.

Having said that, it could take some time for the Google bot to crawl the page. As a matter of fact, it can take up to a week for Google to index the changes you made, depending on how often your website is crawled. So, it is odd that after two months the URL is still not indexed, indeed.

As a first step, you might force a Google indexation. To do that, you can follow the steps indicated in this guide: How to update information in Google search results.

Then, you can try to delete the sitemap in Google Search Console and submit it again by following the step indicated here: https://yoast.com/help/submit-sitemap-search-engines/#google.

We also suggest reading this useful Google help section: Index Coverage report, which explains well how Google works and how the coverage report is built.

    Patience is crucial here.

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
