url suffix

I it possible to a url suffix to our product_category url?

i’ve used the feature to remove the product-category base and this works very well. but we previous were setting a suffix of -products.html to all our categories using a url rewrite in our functions.php this has stopped working when we use the remove base feature. is there somewhere in permalinks.php where we can add this back in? I’ve tried various things but none seem to output the suffix. any help will be more than welcome.
