URLs in Custom HTML widgets are not converted
-
I find that FastDup does a perfect job duplicating a 920MB website I work on. Comparing with other plugins for this purpose it seems strange that there are only 4000+ active installations according to WordPress.
Still: Although FastDup does a good job converting URLs in the same website domain when duplicating a website from one domain to another, there is one type of URLs it does not convert and for which I always have to do manual editing after duplicating a site: URLs in Classic Widgets of the type Custom HTML Widget.
This looks like an oversight and it would would be an improvement if it could be added to the software.

Hi @henk-barreveld ,
Thanks for coming.
Whilst I check with our technical team, can you give more details (screenshots or screencast) to make this clearer, please?
Regards.
Hi Bruce,
That’s quick; thank you!I think the best demonstration is to give you a few examples of website source code, both from an original website (bcstar.nl) and from a website duplicated with FastDup 2.7.2 from that original (bcstar.urbino.nl).
Original website page https://bcstar.nl/star-magazine/artikelen-2025/:
URL in the post content:<a href="https://bcstar.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Its-a-bidding-game.pdf">It’s a bidding game</a>
URL in the Navigation Menu widget: <a href="https://bcstar.nl/star-magazine/artikelen-2024/">Artikelen 2024</a>
URL in the Custom HTML widget in the sidebar: <div class="textwidget custom-html-widget"><img src="https://bcstar.nl/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/T-v-Doesburg-Kaartspelers.png" style="width: 100%;" alt="Theo van Doesburg, De Kaartspelers (Leiden, 1916-1917)" title="Theo van Doesburg, De Kaartspelers (Leiden, 1916-1917)"/></div>
URL in a Custom HTML widget in the footer bar: <div class="textwidget custom-html-widget"><p><a href="https://bcstar.nl/clubinformatie/statuten-en-reglementen/" target="_self">Privacy e.a. reglementen</a></p></div>Duplicated website page https://bcstar.urbino.nl/star-magazine/artikelen-2025/:
URL in the post content:<a href="https://bcstar.urbino.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Its-a-bidding-game.pdf">It’s a bidding game</a>
URL in the Navigation Menu widget: <a href="https://bcstar.urbino.nl/star-magazine/artikelen-2024/">Artikelen 2024</a>
URL in the Custom HTML widget in the sidebar: <div class="textwidget custom-html-widget"><img src="https://bcstar.nl/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/T-v-Doesburg-Kaartspelers.png" style="width: 100%;" alt="Theo van Doesburg, De Kaartspelers (Leiden, 1916-1917)" title="Theo van Doesburg, De Kaartspelers (Leiden, 1916-1917)"/></div>
URL in a Custom HTML widget in the footer bar: <div class="textwidget custom-html-widget"><p><a href="https://bcstar.nl/clubinformatie/statuten-en-reglementen/" target="_self">Privacy e.a. reglementen</a></p></div>As you see, in the first two examples the domain bcstar.nl has been converted into bcstar.urbino.nl, as should be the case, but the domain in the two Custom HTML widgets is unchanged, bcstar.nl.
