Is there any way to set a custom template for displaying miniatures as the default template applied to all existing and future galleries?

    Hi @fabnap,

I am not sure that I have correctly understood your question well but, unfortunately, it wouldn’t be possible to globally change the gallery display type.

    Hi @fabnap!

The default gallery display is “Basic Thumbnails”.
In theory, you should be able to create a custom template for that gallery display https://www.imagely.com/docs/templates/

And then select custom made template on “Legacy (Old) Templates” under Gallery > Gallery Settings > Basic thumbnails

    Select View > Legacy
Legacy (Old) Templates > Your custom template.

So, there’s no way to apply a custom template to all galleries by using the ngg_render_template filter?

Unfortunately, NextGen doesn’t have any setting that would allow to globally change the gallery display type for all the galleries at once. This is out of our scope at the moment.
