1) ARMember Lite provides a facility to “Hide Username field and assign username with email” from ARMember -> Manage Forms -> Add/Edit Signup form -> username field setting option. Please enable it and it will work just fine.
2) Regarding the use of special characters, ARMember lite consider strong password when you have added the special character as given below (special characters from the keyboard ):
!,%,&,@,#,$,^,*,?,_,~,-,+
Therefore, § character is not considered a special character.

1. As I have explained earlier, you can use the facility to “Hide Username field and assign username with email” but currently it will not be possible to enter an email address in the username field.
2. Regarding adding special characters, I am passing this suggestion to the ARMember Lite core developer team and if they find this useful then they will definitely try to add this in future releases.
