    (Two months late, for which I apologise. Hopefully, this will still help someone.)

    <?php echo do_shortcode('[audio mp3="http://media.joshuagoodwin.com/ambush.mp3"]'); ?> works for me. Note that the echo is important – it does catch me out every time.

    Otherwise, I don’t know what to suggest. Does it work in posts?
