Use PHP to print events

Are there any functions by which I can get and print calendar and event pieces within my code? Reason being that I have a very specific vision for the organization and look of the events I want to integrate, and it’s difficult to do with the shortcodes. If I could access the calendar loop directly, organize the resulting array myself, and then display based on my own arrangement it would make my life a lot simpler.

Somewhere along the line I’m sure I missed something obvious. *googles*

Aha! Probably like, “why don’t you just use Google’s Calendar API? Do you understand the point of this plugin?” So, if anyone has my very specific problem and has been bouncing from calendar plugin to calendar plugin (of which I found this one to be the simplest and best IMHO), here is a page for your problem:
