Are you using any ‘page order’ plugin?
No, nothing of the sorts. The named plugins where one of the first (though still few) plugins I use for the site. From the start RPE display’s the events “random” though some kind of pattern seems to be in it. Not ordered by event-date though.
Any idea’s?

Oh I see, I’m sorry at first I didn’t understand the problem. Actually, the system only use the publishing time. But you can try to edit the publish time to match the event time.
Can you give me any guidance on which file to change, with what code?

No, you don’t need to change any file. Just go to the edit event, change the publish time.
In this case that’s not an option. I fixed it doing the following:
-choose for order by ‘menu-order’
-set “publish as page” in event-manager. (instead of post)
-installed an plugin which allows me to drag-drop the order in the events-overview.
