Use shortcode in repeater

We are trying to use a shortcode in a repeater and for whatever reason it does not seem to work. Here is the shortcode we are using: <?php echo do_shortcode(‘[tfg_social_share]’); ?>

Any reason why this may just output the text [tfg_social_share]?
