Use with caution
-
I’ve had this plugin for 6 months and 18 days and I’ve had the following problems:
The first problem prevented a particular date from showing up on the booking calendar. The developer said that this was an issue that bookly described like this: “It seems a bug in the Bookly plugin: The day of transition to winter time is not available for booking if the service duration is more than one day”.
Fair enough. They admitted there was a bug and they fixed within a couple of months.
The second problem happened recently and is causing the special days addon to stop working entirely.
I contacted support and they informed me that I have to renew my support for the plugin before they’ll even take a look at the problem. Unfortunately my support ran out 18 days ago – it was the typical 6 month support that came with the plugin.
I’ve never had problems like this with a premium plugin. And I have lost confidence in the software – especially if I have to purchase more support whenever it breaks down.
Another thing to consider before using this plugin is that you will have to purchase an addon for every bit of functionality that you need. For example, if you want to be able to book your resources on days in addition to their standard availability, you’ll have to buy the special days addon. If you want to use chain appointments, you’ll have to buy a special addon for that. If you want to integrate it with Google Calendar – that’s an addon etc. And you can only use the addons if you purchase the Bookly pro for $89.
I understand that this is not uncommon – I’m just recommending to the reader that they do their research and contact Bookly sales support with a rundown of their use-cases before getting started with his plugin. Otherwise you might find yourself in a situation similar to mine – in too deep to get out, and stuck with a plugin that doesn’t work like it’s supposed to.
