Can I use this to allow the user to add custom post type? I want to use it for recommendations and I don’t need the post created to have URL like regular post

Glad to help.

Out of the box, the free version of this plugin enables users to submit WP Posts or Pages (there is an option in the settings). For other post types, it is possible to achieve using a bit of custom code. Here is a guide that explains how to enable any post type for User Submitted Posts.

You can choose that via plugin settings > Post Status
