    If you go to http://demo.auctionplugin.net,

    1. Go to http://demo.auctionplugin.net/wp-login.php

    2. Enter user credentials. usertest/usertest

    3. You’ll see Ultimate Auction Pro plugin. User can go to “Add auctions” & add his auction. Once added, you’ll see it in your feeds.

For you, users should go to http://worldboffingleague.com/wp-login.php to logon to. But they dont get to dashboard. Check out how dashboard is available to your user.

    Hope it helps

i dont understand.. how are users supposed to know this? i thought the entire idea of this plugin was so that the users have their own page?

why isnt there a simple “Add new auction” button on the same page as the rest of them?

i like the auction so far, but we are approaching the same problems as every other wordpress auction plugin has. way to complicated. it needs to be on the same page or else no users are going to figure this out.

this will not work. users will have no idea what they are looking at and be too scared to touch anything. this was why i asked earlier ” is there an easy interface so users can click one button and add a new auction”

there is no need for them to go to the dashboard ever.

i beg you to change this and make very simple for users to add auctions.

    I can understand your pain.

But, plugin takes this approach to be independent of any WP themes.
If I had to develop a plugin which could add back-end capability to front end of the site, then I would have to provide a solution instead of a plugin which will have its own theme + plugin capabilities + site capabilities.

Lets take your example. You have your own site. Now, if you had to change your theme & your whole setup to have auctions then would u do it? I dont think so. My whole idea is to have a plugin which could give you extra capability to your existing site.

Coming to your pain-points, quick thoughts:

    1. how are users supposed to know this?
Admin can intimate users via email about this new capability. You can create a new banner & upload it in your register.php to tell new users about auction capabilities etc. I’m creating a auction widget which will be available soon (as a part of PRO automatic upgrade) which will display auctions in sidebar. Users will come to know about it from there.

    2. I observe that you redirect your users from dashboard to front-end profile page. Is there any control at your end which could expose some dashboard features in the front end. How do you do it if you want to expose some other capability to your users?

Yours is an interesting use-case for me. I would like to know:

    1. How have you managed to redirect users from dashboard to front end site? Does your theme do it automatically?

I am not a programmer, or a wordpress guy, i know JUST enough information to make the plugins work. my point comes from i used the WP auctions, they make it very easy for users to add. its just 1 button

i dont know how they do it 🙂

but the majority of people who fill out registrations do it very quick and dont read anything. it just needs to be simple.

i am talking to my programmers now to see how they would do it.

if we can figure it out, it will be the best plugin on the internet.

For WP Auctions, does their free version give ability for users to add auction? Your screenshots show images from dashboard.
    Kindly clarify.

For your problem, do let me know if you come up with something.
As I told you, yours is a peculiar use-case & it’ll be great info for me to know how my plugin can work with website like yours.

If possible, keep me posted on this.

    Thanks,

no, their free version does not. i was mainly referring to the look of it. its very easy to figure out, it seems everything i do is always a peculiar case 🙁

i wish everything was just normal for me lol. my entire website MUST have this auction working.

can you try to post an auction on my site?
