user comments utilize email as username!

I set up my web site to use the email address as the username. I find it simpler to remember and easier on the customer.
However, the problem is I have had a review on the product and the user email address is publicly publised since it is the username.
Is there any way to work around this? Ideally, I think it would be good if the user could input a name at the time of the review… or at the very least the review/comment could publish the user’s first name and last initial instead of the email address — nobody wants their email on a public web site.
