• This plugin reliably backs up files and database producing a compressed folder containing your WordPress files and folders (core files, plugins, themes, media etc.) and a SQL file representing your database back-up.

Back-ups are stored in a specific back-up directory but can be emailed when less than 10MB and can also be downloaded from within the plugin admin area.

Setting up scheduled back-ups is very straight-forward.

The best thing about this plugin is that it’s not bloated with configuration options, looks pretty and doesn’t require the exploitable curl_exec() function to be enabled like some of the more popular back-up plugins.

Decent trouble-shooting documentation exists on the author’s website which helped me figure out why I was receiving a CRON warning. In my case, the website was in maintenance mode which prevents CRON and therefore the scheduling of back-ups from running. No fault of the plugin itself but the author had nonetheless preemptively documented a resolution.
