User generated content being deleted

We have recently experienced the same issue as described in this topic: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/personal-data-retention-for-inactive-accounts-deleted-authored-page-content/

When Woocommerce deleted some inactive user accounts it also deleted posts generated by those users.

This topic has been marked as resolved, however when clicking on the github link provided it seems that this is still under review and there for not resolved?

Are you able to provide a solution we can use in the interim and also update when this is likely to be fixed please? We have had to turn the data data retention / deletion off for now.
