    Hello

This is first time I have used this plugin. As such I could do with a little help.

I’m in the process of developing a website and it is still in its early stages as well as being held on a temporary domain: https://crossroads.temp-domains.com/

Apart from selling courses and providing information, I’m considering having a login for students so that they can access their own students page. The page will contain tutorials and other information pertaining to that student.

First of all, I have created a group called “Students”.

I have created the following pages:

I have a query and two questions.

    Query.

The short code for the student’s group is [profilegrid_register gid=”3″]. However, when I register as a new student, the user details end up in the default group and not the student group. I’m not clear why this is the case. Can you please advise.

    Question 1.

A person might purchase a product through the store and will likely register as a user for an account. However, this person may also become a student and will require a user login under the students group. How can make the user appear in both groups?

    Question 2.

I’m looking to have a student page of lessons and notes for each student – not a group of students. How do I make such a page so that only the logged user can see the contents of their page? I guess I’m looking for something similar produced on your Demo website – which I would show if there was a way to attach an image. Any guidance on this would be really appreciated.

Ignore the sentence “guess I’m looking for something similar produced on your Demo website – which I would show if there was a way to attach an image.” This was in relation to a different plugin.

    Hello @goakes,

Thanks for providing the background and links. Please see our comments regarding your query and questions below:

    • Please make sure that the Student group ID used in the shortcode is correct. If the correct group ID is being used, the student group should be assigned to users upon registration. If it is not being assigned, we will need to check the issue on your site and debug it. Please raise a ticket through our support portal so we can assist you further on this.
    • When a user registers on the site, they can join multiple groups. After registration, a user can join the Student group directly from the group page without registering again. Alternatively, if you are using WooCommerce to sell products, you can use the plugin’s WooCommerce Product Integration extension to automatically assign users to a group upon product purchase. For more information, please visit the link :  https://profilegrid.co/extensions/profilegrid-woocommerce-product-integration/
    • You can use the Custom User Profile Tabs extension to display custom data for each student. This extension allows you to add shortcodes from other plugins and restrict profile tabs based on user or group. For more details about this extension, please visit the link : https://profilegrid.co/consolidate-user-data-one-user-profile/

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
