Hi there, after some updates of wordpress and plugins I can’t assign new users to my user groups anymore, nor change them for existing users.

Actually im running WordPress Version 4.6.1. with the UAM Plugin Version 1.2.7.4. Now when I edit a user (a new or even an older one) the checkboxes for the user groups are not shown anymore. Instead there occurs only the following message “Note: An administrator has always access to all posts/pages.”

Previously it worked fine but I can’t say exactly after which update the problem occured.
The Webhosting is unchanged and running with PHP 5.6.

I hope somebody has an idea how to solve that or can provide a workaround.
Thanks in advance, best regards and a wounderful Christmas time!

Are you using the ip restriction feature? I found a bug related to the user groups.

Hi, the same is happening to me.

I can’t unmark the checkbox in the user profile, every user (I’m using subscriber) I create is assigned to all my groups and I can’t change this.

    I’m using WordPress 4.7 and UAM 1.2.7.6.

I’m not using the ip restriction and is my first time using the plugin, I don’t know if it occurs after the last update or before.

How the checkbox are showed to me

Many thanks for this nice plugin.

[LR] means “Locked Recursive”. If you have set the role affiliation to subscriber, editor etc. of a group the users are always part of it, so it’s not selectable anymore, because the user is part of the group by his role. Hover the info link and you will see which group has the setting.

@heijko Is it the same behavior for you? If yes it’s a feature and you have chosen probably the wrong settings. Feedback would be nice, that I can close the ticket. Thanks!

Hi @gm_alex, sorry, you are totally right, I didn’t understood how it works at first, but now is clear. I unmarked the role affiliation to subscriber and now I can select the groups for each user.

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Alex,

no for me it’s not the same… I didn’t select any roles to the user groups (all unmarked).
    Any other idea??

The hint say “Note: An administrator has always access to all posts/pages.” So I guess you granted them full access for the uam at the settings page, see “Minimum user role with full access” of uam or the user is an administrator.

@heijko I mark this as resolved because there was no update since ~4 days. If necessary please change the status. It would be nice if you could give some feedback if it was the “Minimum user role with full access” setting or not.
