I don’t have a USPS User ID in my account – so I have been using yours. Is it possible to use an ID from a third party service?

The USPS Simple plugin uses the USPS API that requires a user id registered via the USPS website: https://registration.shippingapis.com. You can use the built-in user id, or register your own if you prefer.
