    Hi

I know this is a common topic but I’ve followed the instructions you’ve given and the issue still persists.

So for Subscriber and Affiliate roles, I have configured them to ONLY have the 5 ticket permissions per your documentation, but I am still getting the “Sorry, support team members cannot submit tickets from here. If you need to open a ticket, please go to your admin panel or click here to open a new ticket.” message.

Incidentally, when I click on the hyperlink at the end of that message, i dont get taken to a new ticket form in the WP dashboard, I get redirected to the WooCommerce My Account page. That link does work fine however for admin roles. The link address FYI is https://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=ticket.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks
    Steve

  • Hello:

A ‘team member’ is another term for agent. It looks like your agents are attempting to open a ticket on the front-end. Agents can only open tickets in wp-admin.

If you try to open a ticket as a regular user, you should be fine.

Regarding the redirect from the link – WC tends to redirect non-admin roles to its dashboard so its basically hijacking the link that wants to take the agent to wp-admin.

    Thanks.

Yes but these users are not meant to be agents or admins, just regular users. They only have the 5 ticket permissions – unless that’s too much access? But it seemed the basic functionality to me needed for a normal user. Thanks.

    Hi:

What other capabilities do they have? If those are the only five capabilities then they should only be recognized as regular users. If you have additional capabilities, maybe try removing them and just leaving these five and see what happens?

If that fixes the issue you might want to try adding the other capabilities in one by one until you see which one causes the problem.

    Thanks.

Hi… i have the User Role Editor plugin installed, filtered on granted only permissions, and only those 5 came up for each of the 2 roles. Out of ideas now … 🙂

After some more testing, it seems the “edit_ticket” permission classes a user as part of the Support team. I removed it from a test user and voila, the account could then create a ticket. Reapply the permission and got the warning message again. So guess I misread the 5 permissions list… 🙁 I appreciate your help though!

    Hi:

Yes, edit_ticket would grant users some agent capabilities so best not to have that one on end users.

    Thanks!
