That’s odd, because there were no changes in this version related to user search.
Sometimes, updates handled directly through the wp-admin interface don’t always go smoothly. What I recommend is downloading the zip file, unzipping it locally, and uploading it via FTP. That way you can be certain that you have received/replaced all of the plugins files.
Were you updating from the previous version? Or was this a leap over some of the previous updates?

Thanks I have upgraded from a previous version, where i can find the old version to try a downgrade?
I’m having the same issue with the search box. In fact, I’m having issues with a number of buttons within the plugin. The ‘Update User’ button on users.php is not saving or updating details.
I’ve just had the same problems. I have auto update set on WP Members and both search and update had stopped working when I went to use them this morning.
But I had not seen the message on the Dashboard Home page which said that I had to click a button to complete the WP Members update. Now everything is working normal. Hope that helps?

As noted in this thread, the issue is quite likely that the install/upgrade is not finalized. Click the button in the notification message to finalize the process and that should resolve the issue.
