users

In the latest plugin update, I improved searching users by keyword.

Here’s an example:

[pass global="_GET" field="user_search"]
  [users role="author" search="{FIELD}"]
    Full name : [user]
    [if empty]
      No match for search.
    [/if]
  [/users]
[/pass]

<form>
  <input type="text" name="user_search">
  <button type="submit">Search users</button>
</form>

This will output a list of users and a search form. Please let me know if you need more information on how to use it.

The above code should work already. You can copy & paste into the text editor and see.

Searching users by several fields would be pushing the limit of the plugin, but I think it is possible. You can add more fields to the input form, and pass them to the [users] loop.

Unfortunately, search forms are not part of the plugin, and will require technical knowledge to build.

When you say the above code doesn’t work, can you tell me details of what it’s displaying (or not)? We can first try to make the form work with one field, then see about adding other fields if possible.

Ah, OK – so the search form is working for login names. I’ll look into it deeper, to see how it can work with custom user fields.
