Users cannot access password protected pages

Is this a consistent, reproducible problem or an intermittent problem? We need the password to view the page to observe what’s happening if it’s consistent. That would defeat the purpose of the password protected page though. Can you create a page that’s password protected, that consistently demonstrates the behavior, but does not contain any sensitive information? Post the link to the example page along with the required password here.

Before you do that though, let’s eliminate theme or plugin influence. Please install and activate the health-check plugin and enter troubleshooting mode. If passwords work now, use the troubleshooting item in the admin bar to reactivate your theme and plugins one at a time. Test after each. When the protected page load fails again, the last activated module is at fault.
