Users Remain Pending

Installed the plugin
Set the option for Moderate New Members
I tested it by registering my alternate email.
I got the email showing I registered.
My main email (used for the admin account) got the message that a member was awaiting approval.
I followed the link and ended up BP Registration Member Requests.
I clicked the box next to the user and clicked approved.
I got the email stating my account was approved.
I checked Users in wp-admin and the account I just approved was still listed as Pending and I had to activate it.

I’ve tried disabling all other plugins except for this and BuddyPress but the same thing continues to happen. Whem I approve the user in Member Requests it remains listed as Pending under Users, causing me to basically have to approve the account twice.
