• Some of our members are getting the ‘password incorrect’ message (when the password is definitely correct), and getting locked out. They cannot change their password. The only remedy is to delete that user, and recreate the user in the back end. Their login may be fine for a day or so, but then the problem happens again. It does not happen to all users. We have reinstalled Ultimate Member but the problem continues. Thanks for any help on this.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for your help with that. I confirm we have tried conflict testing (deactivating plugins), and the log in error is persisting. It is intermittent, but only seems to impact some people. Also at times changing a browser will allow logging in, but not always. Really keen for any guidance on this one as I am stuck. Thanks.

I encountered the same error, and I found the solution. It appears that the issue is caused by a plugin, specifically the “Ultimate Member Signup/Signin” plugin. When using this plugin, I received an error message stating “Password incorrect. Please try again.” After some investigation, I discovered that the culprit might be the “Email Verification for WooCommerce” plugin developed by WPFactory.

If you’re experiencing similar issues, it’s likely due to this or another email verification plugin interfering with the registration process. These plugins might not be properly registering the form in the backend, causing the error. To resolve this issue, try deactivating these plugins. Once deactivated, the problem should be resolved, and you can utilize the default tools and features provided by the Ultimate Member plugin.

In summary, deactivate any email verification plugins, such as “Email Verification for WooCommerce” by WPFactory, and rely on the default functionalities of the Ultimate Member plugin. This should resolve the issue. That’s The Best Option.

    Hello @woodhouse2000

This looks like a cache problem. Maybe do you use a cache on your server?

    Regards.

Thanks for that Andrew. We diagnosed the problem as problem with a setting in another application which limited the number of active logins. We increased that limit – problem solved. Thanks for your time suggesting a fix with this. Incidentally, love Ultimate Member, great app.
