Using alternate language for post dates

    A question…Is is possible to modify the language returned for post dates, without changing the default language for the whole website?

    I know how to localize a WordPress but in this case I want to leave the site in English, only changing the dates to French.

    If anyone know how this could be done, I would love some advice.
