    Hello,

I am currently using the ASA 2 plugin to create product ad modules on my site. While there is a localization feature for that plugin, it is far too complicated and time-consuming to use (I have to hand-add international ASINs for each product on the site).

Would it work to use Amazon Link Engine (choosing to overwrite all existing Amazon URLs) along with ASA 2?

    Hi Tonya,

Great question. I can take a look to see if the two will work well together – do you have an example website or page that is currently using ASA 2 and has an Amazon link on that page?

In order for our plugin to “find” the links to localize them, ASA 2 would need to add the Amazon link to the page itself (and not serve it up in an iFrame) so I’d like to see an example of what happens with ASA 2 in order to see if the plugins are compatible.

    Thanks!

    Hi Tonya,

Just checking back in to see if you had an example page that I could look at to resolve your question for you.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience if there’s anything else I can help with.

Hi – sorry for the delay in getting back with you.

Sure – here is page on one of my sites that is using ASA2:

PS: The ad blocks on the top-right of each page section is the ASA2 plugin.

    Hi Tonya,

Great! Thanks for passing over that page. I took a look, and it does appear that our plugins will work together nicely. 🙂 It looks like ASA downloads the image and the link from Amazon and places them on your page, so our plugin should be able to convert them after the page loads and localize them for you.

If you’d like, feel free to install our plugin and I can triple check that everything works well together and that your links are properly getting localized. Let me know if that’s something I can do for you.

    Thanks!

    Hi again,

I installed the plugin, created my GeniusLink account and got it all set up on the site.

Yes! I would much appreciate you checking to make sure it’s all working well together. (I did a check just for appearance and site speed – that all seems ok.)

    Hey Tonya,

Success! It is installed and working correctly. You’ll now see that the beginning of your Amazon links start with “http://target.georiot.com/Proxy.ashx?TSID=16088…” which means it’s working as expected. 🙂

Please let us know if there’s anything else you need, and I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved. Thanks for your time!
