    Hi there πŸ™‚

I’m new to podcasting. I’m using this plugin for a client. He’s using anchor.fm to host his podcasts. He would like to link some episodes to some existing posts already published on his website.

I’ve tried the “import Podcast from Anchor.fm” feature in your plugin, but it creates a new post for each episode. Which create some duplicate contents with already published posts on the website.

What I would like is to “simply” put the URL of a media from anchor.fm in the “Media URL” generated by your plugin below a post.

    Thank you in advance,
    Cedric

Just get the media file URL for the episode you want to put on your client’s site and follow the instructions here:
    https://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/using-powerpress/creating-your-first-episode-with-powerpress/

I’m not familiar with Anchor’s system, but I don’t think it’ll easily give you direct links to media file URLs. One strategy would be to load your client’s Anchor feed in a browser like Google Chrome and do a search for “enclosure.” Cycle thru the results til you find the media file URL you’re looking for, then you can copy/paste that media file URL into the Podcast Episode box.

    Hi Shawn,

Thank you for your answer. When I tried the “import Podcast from Anchor.fm” feature, it in fact automatically add the media URL from anchor in newly created news. So your system should know how to get those media URL as it’s done automatically. Right ?

The import function within PowerPress is designed to be a one-and-done operation for migrating an existing podcast into PowerPress. It’s not designed to be used in an ongoing basis to continually import new episodes.

If you want a more streamlined approach for publishing episodes on your client’s WordPress site, you may want to consider Blubrry media hosting, which integrates directly with the PowerPress plugin:

@shawnogordo tips really worked fine. Thank you
