Using columns in event description

I am using Elementor to edit the event description, and would like to have some text displayed in two columns.

Testing first with a regular page (not event) edited with Elementor, the text displays perfectly in two columns beside each other. The page is responsive, so on a mobile device the columns are displayed below each other instead.

However, when trying to do the same with an event edited with Elementor, the columns are displayed below each other all the time. This looks silly on a desktop view.

Any idea on how to fix this?
