Using Embed Any Document with Elementor
-
I have been researching ways to embed a PowerPoint into one of my websites and it has been frustrating for the most part as I want to keep it as simple as possible and I design my websites using Elementor, so I wanted it to work with that also.
Unfortunately all the plugins I came across presented one or more problems when trying to use them out of the box with Elementor. At first, I had given up on Embed any Document. While it worked with the Gutenburg editor, Elementor did not like the Document button and got hung up.
After going through the various options and plugins I came back to Embed Any Document and decided to take a second look at it. In Gutenburg I noticed that the plugin generated a shortcode and while the Plugin itself does not work with Elementor I tried using the shortcode.
- THIS DID WORK!
I opened the page in Elmentor and pulled one of the Shortcode widgets into place and pasted the shortcode from the Gutenberg editor and IT WORKED.
So, here is the way to make this work.
1. Create a special Gutenberg document as Embed Any Document recommends.
2. Install the document in the Gutenburg document
3. Look for the shortcode and copy it.
4. Close/Save the Gutenburg edit.
5. Open the desired (DIFFERENT) document page in Elementor.
6. Place a Shortcode widget in the desired location and paste the Shortcode. The document should appear in a few seconds the same as in the Gutenburg.
Trying to use Elementor and a Gutenburg Document with Embed Any Document will not work. They will cancel each other out. The above is the only one I have found to do it without going over to Google Docs.
Enjoy…
