What theme? When did it stop working? it can depend on how the theme uses the_content function as well as security plugins that change wp-login.php to somethig else.
The installed theme is Flat Sky. It seemed to be working fine until someone logged in and then quit. I tried previews in several themes, including one that I know works, and the password box did not show up on any of them for this site.

Quit what? The browser? Their job?
The password is stored in a cookie in the browser and it will appear that the post isn’t asking for the password anymore when in fact you need to clear browser cookies to be asked for the password again.
We downloaded the Flat Sky theme from one of the free WordPress theme sites…I don’t remember exactly which one. I am at the district level and have downloaded numerous themes for teachers.
Thank you! Clearing the cookies and history caused the password entry box to return. Could this be a quirk with this theme? I have not had that to happen with another theme and password protected pages. Normally it asks me for the password each time I visit the protected page in other themes.
