Using same image in multiple post. Redirect or no?

I do blog hops weekly and therefore reuse the same image often. Is it best to keep uploadng the image and redirect to the new post and havng multiples of an image in my library? Then each time you click on the mage it brings up the correct post.
Or
Is it better to have the image once in my library but keep it detached from the post, but when clicked no post shows up?It is confusing to be in Hop 24 then click and all od a sudden be in Hop 1, but I am afraid of dupkication penalties from Google.
