you can enable shortcodes in a text widget like this:
add_filter(‘widget_text’, ‘do_shortcode’);
put that in your theme’s functions.php file.
you could ask in the plugin’s forum if there are known issues with shortcodes in textwidgets;

Hi Michael, I am fishing for alternatives to the plugin which has not been updated for a year and is not tested with current version of WordPress.

I would like to use the gallery shortcode in a comment.
I installed the “Shortcode in Comment” plugin and it worked.
But it disables shortcodes in a Sidebar Text Widget which used the plugin “Display Posts Shortcode”. The text for the shortcode appeared rather than the list of five recent posts.
I installed “Shortcodes Anywhere or Everywhere” to try and re-enable shortcode in the widget but it didn’t.
Any suggestions please?
