Using Simply Static on Mamp
-
This is a brilliant piece of work. I installed it on Mamp and it worked. I’m using an old OS and an old version of Mamp. I upgraded Simply Static and WordPress until I experienced an issue, then went back to the last working version which for me is 1.6.3. I don’t now update WordPress or any plugin on my Mamp local server. If it works why fix it?
When I add new posts to the site, I generate a new version and watch the files being created in my static files folder. Once the new post is generated and the other pages that include the update I stop the generation. It’s a big site and takes about an hour to generate every file and I don’t need to update the whole site. Then I zip up the folders that are new or changed and upload them to the server. It’s a bit of a clunky workflow. But no constant need to monitor hackers and no need to constantly update WordPress and plugins.
Thank you for making this.
