Using the plugin with W3TC AWS/CloudFront

I think it’s an amazing plugin, I’m curious if you can use it with the following setup:

I want to watermark a specific post_type featured image only. I’m using AWS/CloudFront CDN, so I’m looking to have the same URL to the image after it gets watermarked. The reason is that those images are already linked by various other external sites and that’s the point of me watermarking it.

Anybody in this situation or knows if it works like this?
