• I’m using SiteGround hosting which has a 1-click staging functionality. I installed this plugin on the staging site. The plugin complains that the images are not found (404 error) or there are too many inaccessible URLs. Later found out that it is trying to access the images on the production site which of course are not there. SiteGround told me the database contains references to the production site in order for the one-click staging functionality to work. If the URLs are changed, the one-click functionality will be lost.

However, I found that the WP Smush plugin has no problem optimizing the images on the staging site. This plugin must be directly accessing the images on the staging site while ShortPixel is doing this by another method.

I wish to ask if you can provide me with a workaround in order for ShortPixel Optimizer plugin to work on the staging site.

    Thank you very much.

    Hey @angwk,
thanks for your message and for trying ShortPixel! 🙂

Could you please contact us directly here?
Providing us with temporary admin access to your staging site would help us figure out a solution so that ShortPixel will work just fine on both (staging and production) websites 🙂

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you,
    Alex
