Using WPSP To Replace Categories

When replacing my categories with pages (that show my category posts), I used this script as instructed https://docs.wpshowposts.com/article/use-static-pages-as-category-archives/. However, if you have the category slug in your post URL (for example, https:example.com/category/my-post-name), all posts will redirect to that category page. Is there a way to leave the category slug in the post URL and have it go to the proper post (And NOT the category page)?
