In brief, I followed the procedure for removing Google hosted fonts and the web site does load faster … but all the language specific characters are displayed in other font face.

In my particular case the character code is UTF-8 and the language is “sr-RS”. The fonts used are: “Roboto”, “Proze Libre”, “Caveat”, “Montserrat” and “Font Awesome 5 Brands”.

Can you give me any guidelines to correct this or will there be an update correcting this?

    Hi!

Could you share a screenshot of your settings? Specifically the Generate Stylesheet tab. I’m wondering what character set is selected.

Serbian is not listed on Google Fonts as a supported language for Montserrat, so you’re getting some fallback font displayed instead.

You should check that the fonts on your site support your choice of language.

Tnx guys for trying to help.

@galbaras : Montserrat worked just fine while I used a refference towards Google hosted fonts. The faults appeard after I installed fonts localy.

@daanvandenbergh : both in css and in html characterset is UTF-8.

    Hi again,

Sorry for the (extremely) late reply. It’s been quite a busy few weeks.

The fonts you’re trying to use: in which subset do you load them? Cause I think Serbian should be Cyrillic or Cyrillic Extended? Correct me if I’m wrong.
