Utilize TinyMCE WP Link quick search function with my own button?

I’m trying to create my own TinyMCE button but it would have some similar functionality of that of the WP Link button. I want to list posts from a custom post type and have a custom search. I could build this from scratch but I’d just like to see if it’s possible to use what’s there, so I don’t have to.

Any idea how what to include as far as javascript for the quick search and how to call it?
