    Hi folks,

First, I’d like to say that I appreciate your goal to improve BackWPup. However, I’d like to add my voice to the choir. I find the new interface counterintuitive, settings are difficult to find (ex. individual jobs), withdrawn / removed functionality, ex only .tar as archive, can no longer name archives, the list goes on. I don’t want to repeat every issue already identified by previous posters. I’ve been using BackWPup for years, since version 1, and can’t believe this backward step.

I’m hoping the devs can get back to the drawing board, review what the old v4 version looked and behaved likes, its features, etc. and rework a v5 as a real improvement.

    Thanks for listening,

    Cheers.

  • Unfortunately, I have to completely agree here. The orders are now difficult to find. In the orders, orders are displayed that were not created at all and cannot be deleted, and backups have simply disappeared and are no longer displayed. In addition, although it only creates one backup in the plugin on remote servers (FTP), it creates 5 or more on the FTP server… I also think the design is a step backwards.

I have really appreciated the plugin so far and find the work that has gone into it admirable, but why do you have to change something that works so negatively? Too bad…

    Hi,

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. The goal of v5 was to simplify the backup process, but we understand that long-time users like yourself find the changes restrictive. We’re actively listening to all feedback and evaluating areas where improvements can be made.

Specific points like archive format options, job visibility, and naming flexibility have been noted, and we’ll pass this along to the team for review.

Thanks again for your support over the years, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work through user feedback.

    Best Regards,
