Validate button doesn’t work anymore

    Hey guys. I am pulling my hair out. The reason is I have done this countless times over the years and now it doesn’t work out of the blue. I don’t understand what is causing it. Situation:

    I am trying to install a new website from Duplicator archive and installer.php. Example: I have my Wordpres blueprint so to speak and then I move it with Duplicator to other instances only my server when I work for other clients. This worked for me like a breeze. Now there is this super weird issue.

    So basically the folder is empty, the database is created, I have all the credentials. I upload the installer and zip file to an empty folder. I access installer.php from my browser. And everything is exactly as it was since ever. I can see the installer page. I enter the db name, db username, db password.

    But the Validate button does not work! It simply refuses to do anything. I noticed I can’t use any button. For example at the top right corner, the buttons BASIC-ADVANCED also don’t work. default or cpanel button doesn’t work.

    One interesting visual discrepancy – password field – when I enter a password for my database only in that field password font is like 50% smaller ?!?

    And from there I can’t go anywhere. It is not a browser issue because I tried 4 browsers now. It can not be some plugin or theme interference because there is none.

    These are the entries from dup-installer log file which I don’t know how to interpret and are they cause for my issue?

    Everything else seems to end with “success”

    What are my options, and where to look? I thought maybe the latest Duplicator had some weird bug so I found an older installation (duplicator.1.5.11.2) – but I am getting the same issue. Created zip file with that older version, and a new installer file with that older version but it is the same issue.

    almaLinux 9.5, php 8.3, plenty of resources.

    Any tip? Pretty sure it is something obviou

    Hello @sino27 ,

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    I understand that you can launch the installer but the Validate, Basic, Advanced buttons don’t work.

    It looks like the installer is not able to load the Javascript files. Can you please open the browser console and check if there are any errors?

    Hi Mohammed. I think you are on to something. My console is full of errors. Like:
    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()

    Here is a screenshot

    Can you tell me what could cause that? Where to start? I tried with Edge, Firefox, Chrome, normal mode, private mode, same issue. Could it be on the server side? But why I mean just last week I ran this script at least a few times successfully.

    edit: this is from my logs on the server – this error appear exactly after I run your script : [core:alert] /myfoldershere/ Invalid command ‘php_value’, perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

    Note: I am using PHP-FPM – v 8.3.15 (not FastCGI)

    Edit: found the error. It was my error. In Plesk (I am using Apache) under domain PHP settings, I somehow selected wrong value.

    It needs to be “run PHP as: FPM application served by apache”
    but in my case it was “run PHP as: FPM application served by nginx”

    Sorry about that. It works super nice and super fast now. I remember few days ago I was doing something and I probably by mistake (mousewheel or something) changed this to nginx while it was always set to Apache.
