Hi,
Please set the language of your website using Site Language option on WordPress Settings > General page. The product should be translated automatically.
You can also modify the translations using POEdit software. All translation files of the product should be located under /languages folder of its directory.
You need to download .po and .mo files of your language from this folder and modify .po with POEdit. Then please upload new .po and .mo back to the same folder, replacing their old versions.
Please let us know if the information helps.
Thanks!
Have a nice day!
Hi,
Thank you for your quick response! Like I said, the language is already set to Dutch (nl) in the settings, but nothing happends. Even if I switch this to other languages, it still shows ‘Field is required’ in English when displaying the error on the contact form (front-end).
Any other ideas then to manually modify the translations with POEdit software? Seems more like a bug to me.
Thanks again.
Hi,
Please make sure that you have selected Nederlands , see the following screenshot. I changed it and my front-end displays properly, see the following screenshot. You can edit the texts in wp-content/plugins/contact-form-maker/languages form_maker-nl_NL.po file.
Please let me know if it helps.
Thank you!
Have a nice day!
Hi,
Thanks again for your reply.
Yes I had the following settings:
WP settings
Contact form
I think there is a conflict somewhere or it is not working properly in my setup.
Guess I’ll try to edit the .po files if there is no other solution.
Hi,
I found out what the problem was. The validation translation did not work in the free version. In the premium version it works.
Thanks.
