Also I have this error at the bottom of the site:

Warning: Unknown: open(/tmp/sess_91cb2532107ac0e2f6fe97061a8ea0c5, O_RDWR) failed: Read-only file system (30) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

    My site is at http://www.pcgamerplace.com

If you don’t have a database backup, the read WordPress Backups.

Categories and their relation to posts are kept in the three wp_term* tables. Might try rebuilding those tables in phpMyAdmin.

Also check with your host to make sure they aren’t having problem with your database server.

I made sure that all the wp_term tables are there and they are. The server that the site is on did have a failure yesterday, but it is working now and everything is running okay.
However I am still missing the categories.
I have tried reinstalling the blog, but I still get the same thing after importing the db back.

Try the WordPress Default 1.6 theme.

    Try deactivating plugins.

Also try and edit several posts to see if that ‘resets’ the categories.

    Tried that. Didn’t work.

I am having the same problem.

Also on the menu screen I cannot select any categories.

I encounted the same issue as detoam.
