Variable Product Stock Issues

I am experiencing an ongoing issue with variable products that I would love some help diagnosing.
First, I have tried multiple themes including twenty twenty and twenty twenty-one. I have tried fresh installs of WordPress, and I have even tried multiple hosts.
Second, I have tried disabling all plugins and activating them one by one, I have also tried enabling only one at a time, there doesnt seem to be any noticeable plugin interference.
Third, I am experienced with woo and variable products. We have 500+ products and have had this ongoing issue for many months.
The issue I have is that Woocommerce will show a variable item as out of stock EVEN IF THERE ARE VARIATIONS IN STOCK. I have deleted the products and rebuilt them from new, I have attempted numerous variations as described above and nothing I do seems to rectify this issue. What is stranger yet is some products behave normally while others do not. I really would love to get to the bottom of this and know if we have a theme issue, plugin issue, WordPress/Woocommerce issue or a combination of the above.
For reference, The product category here is showing the 6mm creedmoor 105gr berger hybrid as out of stock

I’ve done a test on my site but couldn’t replicate the behavior you’re seeing with the variable product.
Could you share your System Status Report, it would help us to understand your site setup a bit better. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your reply.
Also, you mentioned you’ve disabled plugins and enabled them back one by one. I’d like to make sure this is done per the instruction below, if you could try again please:
The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to temporarily switch your theme to Storefront (https://woocommerce.com/products/storefront/?aff=10486&cid=1131038) and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. Finally, test to see if the issue is resolved by variable products not showing out of stock when some variations are still in stock. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, continue to the next step - reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. And again as mentioned in the first post, i have tried deactivating all plugins to find the combo where the issue was. That DOES NOT rectify the issue.

I appreciate the details. Can you edit this product and send us screenshots of the variations on the back-end? Also, send screenshots of the inventory section of the parent product. You can upload these to your WordPress Media Library and share the URL to them here.
I want to make sure I duplicate the products correctly to test.
One last thing, have you tried regenerating the Product Lookup Table? There is a tool in WooCommerce > Status > Tools that can do that for you.

I just removed the “manage stock” checkbox on the variation. That fixed the out of stock error on the category page. then I re applied the manage stock and set the in stock quantity. the page now views normally.
I have tinkered with this and my plugins 1000 different ways and i am convinced this is definitely 100% a WOO issue. I understand its impossible to program to all the dynamics involved but as this is the built in variable products being used as intended it should operate more flawlessly….
Thanks for letting us know. If there is a bug, we definitely want to find it so that we can update the code. So far we haven’t been able to duplicate this so any help you can share from the specific product settings would be helpful.
If no one else on the planet with woo has the issue, then its clearly something i am doing wrong since the software is perfect in all the moderators eyes…..
I’m in no way casting blame or trying to say that WooCommerce is perfect. All software has bugs and there are plenty of open issues on GitHub that the WooCommerce core developers are currently working on.
What I’m saying is that Thu and I have both tried to duplicate this and haven’t been able to. We’d love to know the details of these products so that we can get to the bottom of what’s gone wrong here. Being able to reproduce a bug is key to being able to fix it. We’re just trying to help.
