Hi, we are working with a variable product that has over 20 attributes (including 200+ variations), displayed using JetWooBuilder. Our objective is to present only 5 of these attributes as selectable options (like dropdowns) for customers on the product page. The many other attributes have specific values that differ per variant and should dynamically update or display elsewhere on the page once a variation is selected. We are facing difficulty configuring the attributes to achieve this: marking all attributes as ‘Used for variations’ results in too many dropdowns, but when we attempt to set attributes as not ‘Used for variations’, it seems to remove this variant specific data for each of these attributes. We are seeking guidance on the optimal way to structure and configure attributes within WooCommerce to reliably have only 5 configurable options on the product page, while ensuring all variant-specific data for the remaining attributes is correctly stored and accessible for front-end display based on selection.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

From what you described, it sounds like you’re working with a complex variable product setup and aiming to display only a limited number of attributes (as dropdowns) while dynamically showing additional variation-specific data elsewhere on the product page. In WooCommerce core, any attribute marked as “Used for variations” will be shown as a dropdown on the product page, and attributes not marked that way will not be stored or accessible at the variation level—this is expected behavior.

Since you’re using JetWooBuilder, which is a third-party plugin, and trying to achieve a custom frontend experience, this would fall outside the default WooCommerce functionality. For that reason, we recommend reaching out to the JetWooBuilder support team for further guidance, as they may have controls or widgets that help manage this behavior.

Additionally, you might want to explore other third-party plugins that offer extended variation or product customization logic. You can try following plugins https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/product-configurator-for-woocommerce/ and https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/woo-extra-product-options/. Some other product configurator plugins or custom product field solutions may allow advanced display logic and dynamic content updates based on selected variations. You can find such plugins on the WooCommerce Marketplace or ww.wp.xz.cn plugin repository.

Let us know if you have any questions about how WooCommerce handles attributes and variations—we’re happy to help with that!
