    Hi,
I’d like to understand how to get listings right for my variable products. Unfortunately the AdTribes website is offline (again)

I have several variable products, but the variation is very simple. With or without personalisation. As such I’d like like to drop the attribute from the title, and also from the links and just have them go to the main product page.

I have also noticed that in the search results the attirubutes used in the variations are listed.

    1. How can I have the variations all link back to the same core product
    2. How can I remove the attributes from the title?
    3. How can I stop the attributes appearing in the search results?

  • Hi johnrg1980,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out. We checked our website immediately after your email came in but it is running just fine for us. It doesn’t seem to be down (https://adtribes.io/tutorials/).

With regards to your questions I am a bit confused as it seems your questions are related to SEO and not to the creation of product feeds, which is what our plugin does? Nonetheless let me try answering your questions as good as possible:

    1. Our plugin automatically add’s the variation parameters to the links. This is required when you want to advertise in Google Shopping or Facebook. Google/Facebook do not allow you to advertise on a variant products and link it to the parent product. It is therefore not possible to link a variant to the parent product using our plugin;

    2. You can use the parent product name for all your products in your product feed, including the variants by creating this field mapping: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ejp7m5awjzhc8ei/parent-title.png?dl=0

    3. Not sure what you mean with this question. Is it related to Google Shopping?

    All the best,
    Eva

    Hi Eva,

thanks for the fast reply, on a Sunday!

I’ve checked again, and your server still appears to be offline:

The server appears to be down. Please try again later.

I’m accessing every other site I try so my Internet connection is working fine.

As for your reply, thank you. I think I’m getting confused between rich snippets and the XML feeds.

I have changed the feed for product titles which is great, and now I will pester RankMath with answers to my other questions 🙂

    Cheers,

    John
