• I have updated all my sites to Yoast version 5.0.1 and have various issues with the link count feature.

    1) After updating, the post/pages list only shows a column of outgoing links. Only after clicking the ‘text link counter’ button on the general tab of the plugin I get the internal linking column. That’s on all sites.

    2) One of the sites had a [count links] button on the Yoast dashboard. I clicked the button, it counted the links and now it says the feature is disabled because it couldn’t create the database. However, if I look in the database, the tables are there and the links have been counted.

    3) It doesn’t properly count links in website that have been created by page builders like Avada and Divi. It looks like they are not counted if they are inside a shortcode, even if formatted like the text.

  • Following. Similar issue. In mine, it says links were counted but the notification keeps coming back.

    1) To make sure all the links in your texts are counted, we need to analyze all your texts. Please follow the steps here: I don’t see internal link counts

    2) In some cases, the plugin successfully creates the table but the error appears due to incorrect transient cache. Transient cache typically clears automatically within a few hours and the message will disappear and the link count functionality will be enabled.

    3) Our plugin analyzes the default WordPress content areas. Some plugins and themes, like page builders or visual composers, do not share their content with our plugin. Please reach out the Avada and Divi developer to request compatibility with our new feature.

@pwizard If you have a similar issue, please open a new request. That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

    Thank you Angi,

    1) thank you, that’s what I did. I think it should be made clear in the plugin you need to do that. Because when you install/update the plugin, you only see the outgoing link column with only a few counts. That makes you think it’s broken.

    2) Thanks, I checked back and now it’s indeed ok.

    3) That’s a bit odd because shortcodes are in the default WP content area. The two documents I attached are copied from the revision history which is the content. Doesn’t that automatically mean you have access to that?

Sure I can ask the theme developers to make their theme compatible with Yoast. Do you ave a link to a document that tells them how to do that?

    thanks

Do you ave a link to a document that tells developers how to make their theme compatible with Yoast SEO? Specifically with
    – the link count feature
    – the image sitemap (that’s another thing Yoast doesn’t do for images used in page builders)

@jpnl Our developers document within the plugin code to help other developers create custom solutions.

If documentation is missing, please have your developer submit the issue in our GitHub repository for Yoast SEO? Thanks!

Thanks @amboutwe. Just providing a link to that document would have been a whole lot easier. Couldn’t find it so now you have a new issue on github here
